Artist's Comments

This is a sleeve tattoo design I did for a fellow artist I met at an art show earlier this year. She wanted to dedicate half an arm to the Stanley Kubrick masterpeice "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE"---lucky for me that I was a fan of the film and got to work on this AND got paid to do it.

Wowiee... One of my most favourite movie.I love your interpretation of it. The simplish one on the center especially, really catches my eye :D Nice job!

It's a gorg design :) but is she a fan of stanley kubrik or anthony burgess? because the book has different details than the movie.

Absolutely Gorgeous.
I would totally permanently ink that into my flesh.
and I can't say that about many things. lol

Beautiful. If there was ever a tattoo I'd get, this'd be it.

It's been agreed the whole world stinks, so no one's taking showers any more.
Laugh hard, it's a long way to the bank.

That book made me giggle.

That sounds odd. I'll explain. While people expound on his brilliance for creating a slang language for the characters, it's really just Russian in English letters. For example, in this tattoo, you have "milk" written three times. And I'm a Russian major, so I could understand the book much better than many people.

I think my favorite part of this is the right side, the almost-triangle, though I haven't seen the movie, so much of this is different from the book.

I'm actually getting a tattoo dedicated to Kubrick's interpretation of Burgess' novel. I adored both very much and actually had the wonderful opportunity to meet Malcolm McDowell (Alex). I really like what you did with the idea, so I suppose, basically, I'll use this rendering. Would that be alright with you?
:iconmalevolentnate:
sure

This is a brilliant tattoo design. :) I especially love how it has his prison number down the side.

If I ever got a tattoo, it would definitely be something to do with ACO. :D
