This is for some reason the weakest one I've done so far and I don't know why. I think it has a lot to do with the picture itself. This isn't the first image of John that people remember when they hear his name. Most people picture him with the mop top in 1964 during the whole Beatlemania era or they remember him from the later Beatles years when he had long hair and a shaggy beard, or they remember him from the early 70s during his solo career in his army jacket or New York City tee shirt with his round rimmed glasses and his shaggy hair. Here he has a close beard and sort of a short hair cut. I don't know. For one thing, his right eye looks larger than the left eye but when I looked at the photograph it was actually that way. Perhaps he had one half closed or something I don't know. I am a major Beatles fan and my favorite of the group was John. I didn't want to draw the same old portrait that so many people have drawn so that is why I went with this one. I think people can tell who it is but a more familiar picture, although overdone, may have been a better choice.
If I remember correctly, in 1970, he and his wife, Yoko, cut their hair for a particular reason. Of course, I cannot remember what that particular reason was. Anyway, nice portrait of John.
