MORGAN FREEMAN in an hour by MalevolentNate MORGAN FREEMAN in an hour by MalevolentNate
I got a funny story about this one. Morgan of course is part of my greatest actors of the last 50 years collection of portraits. THe funny story is after I did the Matt Damon drawing for my wife she took it to work to hang in her cubicle. A few people she works with asked her how much I charged to do them. One such worker wanted a picture of her and her fiance. My wife took all of the drawings I had done so far to work the next day. The girl in question is white and her fiance is black. A few people commented that I've drawn a lot of white people but could I draw black people? This both ammuses me and irritates me at the same time. I cannot get over the fact that an average person can look at all the portraits I've done which I feel show true skill as an artist yet they aren't convinced that I could handle drawing a black man as if black men are the hardest things to draw in the world. I don't know, it was just funny. So here's their black man drawing. Took me about an hour on 8X10 in HB graphite.

Yeah, I don't get many comments. Most of the people who check my stuff out say I'm underrated on deviantart. I've heard I need to mingle on here more but who has the time?

I'm not sure what you mean in this question...lol. I'll just cover it all. I find a photo of the model online, print it out and then I draw it from the photo with an hb pencil and a peice of copypaper. Real basic.

nice work =]] the only thing is that i can coment on is the slopy shading ... try using emm(i dont know how its called in eanglish...[link]) its a very soft and smooth cardbored that you use to smoothen the pencil lines in the shadings =]

Thanks for the comments. If the shading is sloppy it's because I am doing these in a rush. They are simply me killing time at work and I am not really spending too much time on them. While most artists may spend 20 hours on one portrait I am busting them out in 30 minutes to an hour. So yeah, the shading and the hair is usually rushed and "sloppy" because my main focus is just capturing their likenesses and moving on.
