Description
I made a list recently of the top 25 fictional heroes that molded me in my youth (1976-1991) and left a major impact on me. First and foremost is the character who got me into the comics field in the first place and the one superhero that I would leave independent comics to work on. I "WILL" do a Batman comic one day...oh yes, I will.
Hardest thing is not drawing Bats like Jim Lee...his version is just definitive. I can't draw the character without his version coming out of me. Same with Wolverine and Jim Lee or I can't draw Spidey without McFarlane's influence coming through.

I've recently found a second youth and returned to enjoying comicbook art. I really appreciate the comic-based artwork on DA. On this 'The Batman' art piece, I agree about Jim Lee and McFarlane. It's the exaggerated size and muscularity of the Batman which in common in visual style to McFarlane's Amazing Spider-Man, and X-Men characters by Jim Lee. Even the areas with smaller muscles remind me of the torso of Lion-O in the Thundercats animation. It is the pre-eminent style of late 80s /early 90s comic art..and as I see today, the form and lines are mirrored say on Infinite Crisis (Phil Jiminez?) and Superman for Tomorrow. and numerous other vibrant art pieces. What do you you think?
